A Golden Canopy over a Secret Garden

A Golden Canopy over a Secret Garden

A golden canopy hangs over the lilly pond in the Conservatory Garden in Central Park and the Frances Hodgson Burnett Memorial Fountain by sculptor Bessie Potter Vonnoh. The fountain is a tribute to the author of the children’s book “The Secret Garden”. The children — a girl and a boy, are said to depict Mary and Dickon, the main characters from the classic.
