The Mighty Tupelo

A black tupelo, also known as sourgum or blackgum, in its fall foliage at the Center of the Ramble in Central Park. The tree measures 81.18 feet (24.74 meter) tall with a trunk diameter of 49.5 inches (1.25 meter) and a canopy spread of 56 feet (17 meter) according to the Central Park Conservancy. Nov. 2, 2016.
