A Dog and His Master

A Dog and His Master

One from my archive, a 1989 image from Central Park with a dog and his master. Judging by the headlines, not much has changed in the world.

The Art Lesson

Art is one of the most important subjects to teach our children, and often it is the first to be eliminated from the curriculum when budgets are tight. It was a real pleasure to see this teacher in action and the children respond enthusiastically at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Jazz in the Park

Jazz players in Central Park

Jazz players in Central Park

Central Park summer days are often abuzz with musicians such as these jazz players. I captured this with my trusty 32-yr old Olympus OM1 camera and a 50mm f1.4 lens. on Kodak Portra NC 400 film. I love using this combination. The DoF can be very pleasing. In this scene I loved the purple echoing through the picture.

Believe it or not, but this scene was taken along a very hectic Lexington Avenue in the heart of New York City. I love working with my old and trusty Olympus OM1. There is something satisfying about a completely manual camera. The super sharp Zuiko 50mm f1.4 is one of my favorites. I love the subtle colors of Kodak Portra NC.

Apple computer store, Fifth Avenue & 59th Street.

The Apple store on Fifth Avenue is one of my favorite places to go for two reasons. Apple…..and the architecture. Another favorite of mine is the Olympus OM 1 camera. I’ve had mine since 1976 and it is still as good as new. They knew how to make quality products in those days. I took this shot of the glass stairs at the Apple store with my 50mm f1.4 lens on Kodak Portra 400NC film and I think the results far surpass what a digital camera can accomplish. But I’m biased 😉
