An Artsy Table Setting

An Artsy Table Setting

“The Theater of Disappearance” by Adrián Villar Rojas. In this installation on the roof garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the artist takes as his material objects in the museum’s collections which were 3D scanned and digitally reproduced. The sixteen sculptures in the installation incorporate nearly one hundred replicas of objects – selected from a wide variety of time periods and cultures and reconfigured as amalgamations – as well as figures engaging with the art and, occasionally, signs of everyday life, such as food, animals and furniture.
